Catherine Berael est architecte, elle a rapidement trouv\u00e9 les limites de la cr\u00e9ativit\u00e9 dans l\u2019exercice de sa profession. De tradition familiale et depuis sa plus tendre enfance, c\u2019est vers le dessin qu\u2019elle s\u2019est tourn\u00e9e pour se ressourcer. Depuis 2010, elle illustre des recueils de po\u00e9sie aux \u00c9ditions Le Coudrier. \u00c0 c\u00f4t\u00e9 des crayons et des pinceaux, l\u2019\u00e9criture devint une \u00e9vidence et c\u2019est en 2012 que parut son premier opus \u00ab L\u2019oubli n\u2019a pas suffi \u00e0 effacer les pas\u00a0\u00bb. Elle a depuis \u00e9crit trois nouveaux livres. Le dernier est un recueil de nouvelles \u00ab\u00a0Deux\u00a0\u00bb venant de para\u00eetre en d\u00e9cembre 2024<\/em>

\u00ab La souffrance du complice qui dispara\u00eet subitement, l\u2019inexorable s\u00e9paration d\u2019un couple toxique, le merveilleux d\u2019une rencontre nordique, l\u2019harmonie d\u2019un alter-ego qui n\u2019est pas faite pour durer, ou encore, la vie d\u2019une enfant qui se d\u00e9ploie dans le digne sillage et en reflet-miroir de son a\u00een\u00e9e\u2026 Autant de facettes que la vie permet et dont la gr\u00e2ce ne s\u2019inscrit que dans l\u2019\u00e9ph\u00e9m\u00e8re. Un d\u00e9ploiement de la beaut\u00e9 qui trouve sa nature intrins\u00e8que dans cette temporalit\u00e9 et lui donne tout son sens et tout son sel. \u00bb (Extrait de la pr\u00e9face de Bruno Uytterprot) Nomm\u00e9 fort \u00e0 propos (le nombre 2, en num\u00e9rologie, n\u2019\u00e9voque-t-il pas la dualit\u00e9, l\u2019\u00e9change et la confrontation ?), ce recueil de nouvelles est habit\u00e9 par des personnages \u00e0 la sensibilit\u00e9 \u00e0 fleur de peau, pour qui l\u2019\u00e9change avec l\u2019Autre est vital. Rien de contemplatif, ici, les sentiments et les \u00e9motions \u2013 la douleur, la joie, l\u2019abandon \u2013 sont ressentis d\u2019abord dans le corps.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

On acc\u00e8de \u00e0 ce livre par une passerelle, celle des mots de Catherine Berael. Comment nommer ses textes ? Escales de vie ? Mar\u00e9es de m\u00e9moire ? Nous y d\u00e9couvrons une palette d’atmosph\u00e8res et de lieux, tous fr\u00e8res de la mer. Catherine Berael fait caboter ses histoires d’\u00eele en \u00eele, de port en port. Chacune nous propulse dans des mondes tr\u00e8s diff\u00e9rents, parfois envelopp\u00e9s de myst\u00e8re, des v\u00e9cus o\u00f9 l’enfance et le souvenir ne sont jamais loin. C’est d’une \u00e9criture fluide et agr\u00e9able qu’elle aborde le voyage sous toutes ses formes, celui du dedans, celui du dehors, et aussi celui du temps.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Une lumi\u00e8re pos\u00e9e \u00e0 la verticale d’un voilier, on dit que les papillons blancs sont des \u00e2mes qui parfois nous visitent et nous font signe de leur voile si l\u00e9g\u00e8re dans l’air qu’on douterait de leur pr\u00e9sence mat\u00e9rielle, \u00e0 peine un battement au coeur. L’h\u00e9ro\u00efne, qui se pr\u00e9nomme Adeline, a quitt\u00e9 Bruxelles, y laissant son compagnon qui n’a pas voulu la suivre, pour un s\u00e9jour en Bretagne hors saison, s’est donn\u00e9 rendez-vous avec les solitudes… Le r\u00e9cit est simple et direct, factuel hormis les moments o\u00f9 l’\u00e9motion l’emporte… Nous n’en dirons pas davantage, de crainte d’en \u00e9venter le r\u00e9cit. A celle qui nous le livre, nous laisserons de commenter le parcours de l’h\u00e9ro\u00efne par ses propres pinceaux, d’y exprimer la lumi\u00e8re qui lui est ch\u00e8re dans la foul\u00e9e de sa plume.

Comme les compagnons artisans font leur \u00ab Tour de France \u00bb, courait le mythique GR20, le sentier de grande randonn\u00e9e le plus rude d\u2019Europe, \u00e0 travers la montagne Corse.
On ne s\u2019y aventure pas sans laisser derri\u00e8re soi quelque chose de son bagage, sur lequel, en allant de l\u2019avant, on revient.
Ainsi Solange se rem\u00e9more Tristan. Son souvenir revient croiser son chemin.
\u00c0 travers une randonn\u00e9e aussi ardue que passionn\u00e9e, se profile un duo de plumes comme un quiproquo de m\u00e9moires.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
