Lui qui r\u00eavait de devenir grand reporter ne couvre que des comm\u00e9morations patriotiques, des noces d\u2019or, des concerts de fanfare et des conseils communaux insipides. \u00c0 24 ans, il est d\u00e9\u00e7u par son m\u00e9tier.<br>Mais le 9 juillet 1994, alors qu&#8217;il assiste au cinquanti\u00e8me anniversaire d\u2019une bataille entre des r\u00e9sistants et des Allemands, \u00e0 la ferme du Neirchail, il a enfin l\u2019occasion de mener ce journalisme d\u2019investigation qui, il l\u2019esp\u00e8re, le rendra c\u00e9l\u00e8bre. Comment les Allemands ont-ils d\u00e9couvert la planque des r\u00e9sistants? Les maquisards ont-ils \u00e9t\u00e9 trahis? Elle suivait son mari am\u00e9ricain, bien s\u00fbr, mais elle s\u2019\u00e9loignait aussi d\u2019une m\u00e8re sur laquelle elle n\u2019a jamais pu compter et qu\u2019elle juge responsable de la mort de son p\u00e8re.<br>Malheureusement, la contr\u00e9e est sauvage et la maison fort isol\u00e9e. Helen se sent emprisonn\u00e9e et angoiss\u00e9e. D\u2019autant que les cauchemars qui l\u2019assaillent l\u2019am\u00e8nent \u00e0 remettre en question sa vision du pass\u00e9.<br>Et puis, elle a l\u2019impression d\u2019\u00eatre \u00e9pi\u00e9e.
